INGREDIENTS

  • 500g dried dates, pitted and soaked in hot water for 10 minutes, drained
  • 300g raw almonds, unsalted
  • 100g CNP chocolate protein powder
  • 3 tbsp organic cacao powder
  • 2 shots of fresh espresso (or the equivalent in quality instant coffee)

METHOD

  1. Get Prepped: Line a freezer-safe tray with baking paper for easy transfer and freezing.

  2. Blend Time: Add the soaked dates, raw almonds, CNP chocolate protein powder, organic cacao powder, and espresso shots to a high-powered food processor. Blend until you achieve a sticky, cohesive mixture. If it appears too dry, simply add a tablespoon of date soaking water and blend again.

  3. Rolling Action: Place a sheet of baking paper on a flat surface, transfer your mixture onto it, and cover with another sheet of baking paper. Roll the mixture out with a rolling pin until it’s approximately 2cm thick.

  4. Freeze to Perfection: Transfer the rolled mixture to your pre-lined freezer-safe tray and freeze for at least two hours.

  5. Slice and Store: Remove the frozen mixture and cut into 12 bars. Keep them stored in the freezer.

  6. Ready to Eat: When you’re in the mood for a delicious, protein-packed treat, just take a bar out of the freezer and allow it to thaw for a few minutes before indulging.
